For my first featured article about music, I wanted something chaotic. So I turned to my Spotify account.
There is one thing I will always find so beyond fascinating: looking through people's Spotify accounts.

Now, I do acknowledge how personal someone's Spotify can be. Much like tastes in film and literature, someone's music tastes can heavily define them as a person. Customized playlists also play a large part in this picture (I'm a big fan of making playlists for anything and everything. You can check them out on my Spotify profile).
Going off of that thought, I figured that the custom On Repeat playlists curated by Spotify can show a lot about people's personalities. Myself included.
Originally, I wanted to show my top songs to you all with absolutely zero context, but for this I feel context is necessary.
So, here are my top 10 most recent songs I have had on repeat. I'll even add the link to the entire playlist will be at the end of this article.
I don't really know where to begin with this, but I hope you enjoy.
| I blame this on my recent discovery of the scene from the first Puss in Boots movie. It's also just fun to walk across campus to. Plus it's Lady Gaga, I feel like I don't need to write an explanation for that. |
2. "Smells Blood" - Kensuke Ushio | I've never seen a single episode of Devilman Crybaby. Ever. Maybe this is a sign to finally put it on my watchlist. |
3. "The Heirs of the Dragon" - Ramin Djawadi | The soundtrack has always been my favorite part of Game of Thrones. I think this one popped up because I use to to write a lot. |
4. "The Rumbling" - SiM | I always imagine what it would be like to listen to this song if I went to the gym. Maybe some day. |
5. "Time" - Pink Floyd | I feel like this song is always on repeat for me. I've always been a big Pink Floyd fan, and I can't believe this album is 50 years old this year. |
6. "Aerie" - Lena Raine | I know, I know. C418 is the best Minecraft music composer, or even the most nostalgic one for sure. I love what Lena Raine has been doing with the music for the new updates, and this one is one of my all-time favorites. |
7. "Reign of the Targaryens" - Ramin Djawadi | The nostalgia hit big time with this one. Djawadi brought me back to the original Game of Thrones with hints of original Targaryen themes. Perhaps that's why it's so addicting. |
8. "Fire in the Twilight" - Wang Chung | I love to imagine I'm in the hallway scene in The Breakfast Club. I even made a playlist curated for John Hughes fans on my Spotify. |
9. "Cracker Island" - Gorillaz (feat. Thundercat) | I got into Gorillaz when I was about eight or nine, so their work is familiar and fun to me. This one specifically was just funky and a feel-good song. |
10. "Con la Brisa" - Foudeqush, Ludwig Göransson | Honestly, I thought this one would still be higher on the list. I haven't stopped listening to this since Wakanda Forever came out in theaters. Even if you don't want to listen to any other song on this list, I highly recommend this one. It's very ethereal and dreamy. |
I hope you enjoyed even a small part of this, because I know I enjoyed writing it. Here is my On Repeat playlist link, as promised: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1EpibzsIbdgOg8?si=a72c57bb39be48b2
I'd love to know people's thoughts about the whole playlist, so let me know in the comments. Maybe in the future I'll do a feature about my Repeat Rewind, or some other playlist of mine.
